It is possible to dilute the drug in 5 ml of solution. Then the tabular calculations must be divided in half. It is also possible to dilute in 3 ml of solution. Then the tabular data must be divided by 3.
Dorynum is a complex antibiotic that includes a synergistic combination of rifampicin and doxycycline. It is a highly effective therapeutic and preventive agent, with low toxicity (class III), and without mutagenicity. Allows to increase the dosage by many times in the treatment of severe and chronic infections without serious side effects. These qualities of the drug are highly valued for capricious and valuable breeds of various species of animals. DORYNUM has a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action and is active against most gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including staphylococci, streptococci, meningococci, gonococci, escherichia, salmonella, pasteurella, mycoplasma, chlamydia, rickettsia, protozoa, rabies virus.
Staphilococcus aureus, S. pyogenes, S Pneumoniae, Brucella spp. are especially sensitive to Dorynum.
Due to the successful formula, part of the antibiotic is excreted by the liver, part by the kidneys, which halves the toxic load and allows you to reach more therapeutic effect on a larger number of organs. Another advantage of Dorynum is the combination of various effects on the microbial cell, by disrupting the process of protein synthesis in the mRNA of the bacterium and the entire process of the life of the microbe, making the addiction and resistance difficult. The third, important feature of Dorynum is its high penetrating capability. The antibiotic also penetrates into the cells of the body, suppressing intracellular parasitic infections. This is especially important in mycoplasmosis, chlamydia and viral diseases. Another noteworthy feature is Dorynum’s low toxicity. The following is an extract from the toxicity test of the drug: Dorynum’s toxicity study in experiments on laboratory animals showed that the drug in therapeutic dose does not cause functional changes in the body of white mice.
When studying the cumulative properties, the total doses of Dorynum in an amount of 2,200 mg/kg administered to white mice did not cause the death of animals (cumulation coefficient exceeds 4 and Dorynum refers to substances with weak cumulation). Result of the studies revealed that subcutaneous administration of the drug in doses of 100 to 1,150 mg/kg, does not lead to the death of animals. Higher doses of the drug were impossible to test because of limited solubility in water. Repeated (twenty-day) intramuscular administration in doses of 10, 30, 50 mg/kg of body weight of dogs has no toxic effect on the body of experimental animals.
DORYNUM is used for the treatment of colibacteriosis, salmonellosis, gastroenterocolitis, enteritis, dyspepsia, bronchopneumonia, pleurisy, mycoplasmosis, mastitis, endometritis, leptosperosis, chlamydia, pyroplasmosis, necrobacillosis, pasteurellosis, listeriosis, has a viricidal effect on the rabies virus, inhibits the development of rabic encephalitis. DORYNUM should be dissolved in water for injection, novocaine, saline, and other injectable solvents. To be administered parenterally 1 time per day 5-7 mg per kg of live weight, 3-5 days. One vial of Dorynum (300 mg) is enough for a one time administration per 40-60 kg of live weight, depending on the severity of the disease. A therapeutic dose of 3 mg per kg of live weight is permissible in case of reliable sensitivity of the pathogen to Dorynum.
In severe, mixed infections, it is recommended to administer Dorynum 2 times a day at regular intervals. It is also allowed to raise the dose above the recommended value by 15 mg/kg of live weight and to increase the duration of treatment up to 20 days for chronic infectious diseases and complications. Special instructions. Joint administration with drugs containing iron, calcium and aluminum, reduces the effectiveness of Dorynum. The side effects might include a temporary infiltration at the injection site and pain manifestations during intramuscular administration; therefore for intramuscular administration, we recommend to use Dorynum in novocaine solution. Do not shake and stir while dissolving, this will cause foaming. A slight swaying of the vial is enough. In order to prevent the formation of infiltrates, the rules of intramuscular administration must be strictly observed. If the volume of the injected drug is more than 1 ml, it is advisable to split the injection and administer it into different places, or reduce the amount of solution when diluted in a vial to 3 ml. 1. The drug was used to treat chlamydia in 7 cats and cats of different breeds. The diagnosis of chlamydia was confirmed by laboratory tests. At the end of treatment, chlamydia was not registered in animals. The injections were well tolerated by the cats. Also, Dorynum in the same doses was used to treat exacerbation of chronic pneumonia (which was confirmed by x-ray). Previously, an 8 years old cat with an exacerbation of cough and breathing difficulties was administered various antibiotics (lincospectin, enroflon, gentamicin, tylosine). After 10 days of using Dorynum, exacerbation of chronic pneumonia in a cat stopped. Positive dynamics (normalization of temperature) in all cases was noted starting from 4-5 days of administration. Improvement of appetite, reduction of cough. Complete clinical recovery was observed on days 7-8 from the beginning of treatment.
2. The experience of using Dorynum in a cat with “fibrinous pleurisy” diagnosis is also noteworthy. At the initial examination, the animal’s condition was severe, depressed, the temperature was below normal, the heartbeat was increased, and dry pericardial murmur was heard during auscultation. The antibiotic was used in recommended doses for 14 days. Starting from the 6th day, the pericardial murmur on the right became less pronounced. The cat became active, and the body temperature returned to normal. On day 12, the pericardial murmur was not observed. On day 14, the cat was completely cured.
3. In dogs, Dorynum was used to treat pneumonia. On the second day after the first injection of the drug, the temperature came back to normal. The general condition of the animals changed from oppressed to active. Crepitation disappeared on day 6. Loss of appetite in animals was not observed. On the basis of observations of sick animals after administration of Dorynum rapid clinical recovery of animals was noted. In the treatment of pneumonia, no change of antibiotics was required during treatment, and no combination of Dorynum with other antimicrobial drugs was used. Thus, it can be concluded that monotherapy of the pneumonia only with Dorynum is possible.
4. Dorynum was included in the set of therapeutic measures in the treatment of pulmonary plague of carnivores. Clinical presentation: temperature 40.6; purulent conjunctivitis, purulent rhinitis, increase in regional lymph nodes, refusal of food and water. A persistent decrease in temperature was achieved on the 5th day of treatment, the appetite appeared. In total, Dorynum was administered for 10 days. After summarizing the results of clinical trials of Dorynum, it can be concluded that it has wide therapeutic efficacy in small domestic animals.
5. Dorynum was also the drug of choice for the prevention of postoperative complications of osteomyelitis in an 11 years old dog after the removal of bone fragments caused by fracture of the fingers of the right limb. The absence of signs of osteomyelitis was determined by x-ray. The drug was administered intramuscularly for 5 days at the recommended dosage.
6. For the treatment of alimentary enterocolitis, Dorynum was administered to three four-month-old puppies of a Central Asian shepherd dog belonging to a police kennel. The puppies arrived in bad condition with a high degree of dehydration, exhaustion, low body temperature, apathy, profuse diarrhea and vomiting mixed with bile. Dorynum was administered for 10 days, the body temperature decreased to normal. Normal stool was established on the 7th days of the drug administration. After a course of antibiotics, a diet and probiotics were prescribed.
The materials were obtained in clinics in Moscow and the Moscow region.
